"The hills are alive with the sound of music."

With all of the end of the school year activities, we have been musical for the past couple of weeks.

1. J - has learned to play Do, Re, Mi on his bells for his http://letsplaymusicsite.com/ class.  He can even do it fast.

2. E - was a sport to finish his first year of piano lessons by playing Roll Off March by Noona and Eye of the Tiger by Sullivan.  (Saturday, June 8 at 1)  He is very annoyed how much time piano takes, but has agreed to try it again with the hopes of playing fun stuff now that he has the basics down.
3. M -  played Tarantella by Burgmuller and Man or Muppet by McKenzie.  This could be his last recital because he is starting high school in the fall and will be in the band.  We will see if he has time to do piano in the spring.

4. M - also had an end of the year band concert where only Doug could go (someone had to stay home and watch the three little guys.  Me).  During one of the songs Doug realized that only the tubas were playing and when he looked up he saw that M was the only one playing.  The solo was a surprise, and I am disappointed to have missed it.  I hear he did a fantastic job.

5. A - had a choir concert the next day (Wednesday, May 29th) where he was told that he would be doing a solo during part of a song.  He was not excited!, and I was nervous because I wouldn't want to sing a solo.  He ended up being sick that night, and really didn't even care how he did because he just wanted to come home and go to bed (kind of a blessing).  The concerts are mandatory or you get a C in the class.  Doug and I missed the solo by one song because we were at home celebrating E's birthday and getting him to cub scouts with cupcakes.

I am tired just remembering all of this :)
